At Southern Gymnastics Club, we offer artistic gymnastics classes for girls aged 4 to 18. Whether they’re just starting out or have been flipping for years, our classes are all about having fun, staying active, and learning new skills in a supportive and encouraging space. Gymnastics is more than just a sport—it helps build strength, balance, and coordination while boosting confidence and self-esteem. Along the way, our gymnasts form strong friendships, cheer each other on, and create memories that can last a lifetime. We’re not just about perfect routines – we’re about growing together, celebrating every little win, and helping each child shine in their own way.
Our classes cater to all skill levels, from beginners to advanced athletes competing at a high level.
Confidence allows gymnasts to approach skills with determination rather than hesitation. This reduces the risk of injury, improves performance, and helps athletes stay motivated. Confident gymnasts are more likely to try new skills, learn from mistakes, and bounce back from setbacks.
Improving coordination can boost your overall athletic ability, make skills feel easier, and give you more confidence when trying new things. When your body does what you want it to, when you want it to, you feel more in control — which builds trust in yourself and strengthens your self-confidence both in and out of the gym.
Focusing on wellbeing helps you feel happier, more positive, and more confident. When your body is strongand your mind is calm, you’re better prepared to take on new skills and bounce back from setbacks. Feeling supported andhealthy boosts your self-belief, making confidence grow naturally over time.
Gymnasts often flip, twist, and move in all directions, sometimes without seeing the ground. Good spatial awareness helps you know how to position your body, land correctly, and connect skills smoothly. It also helps prevent falls and injuries by improving your control in the air and on apparatus.
In women’s artistic gymnastics, athletes compete on four apparatuses: the vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor. The vault involves a fast run-up and a powerful launch over a vaulting table, showcasing speed and explosive strength. The uneven bars require gymnasts to swing, transition, and release between two horizontal bars at different heights using momentum and precision. The balance beam is a narrow, elevated surface where routines combine acrobatic elements, dance, and turns, demanding exceptional balance and control. The floor exercise is performed on a spring floor, blending tumbling, dance, and choreography to music, emphasizing both power and artistic expression.
